Remedial massage therapists are in demand thanks to an increased trend for multi-disciplinary health care. You will train in a student massage clinic to meet the hours of clinical supervised practice, which is located in the Murdoch health precinct next to Fiona Stanley and St John of God Hospitals. You will also have the opportunity to participate in elite sporting events such as HBF Fun Run to apply sports massage treatments.
Once you graduate you can work with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restrictions in range of motion. You will also learn specialised pregnancy massage so you can perform safe and accredited pre and post-natal massage. On completion you will be eligible to apply for all private health care provider numbers including Medibank through nationally accredited massage associations.
